User Vermeer Trencher
This trencher was received at port from the machinery dealer, and at initial glance appears to be clean. Notice the dirt which has been painted over! A machine even in this apparent condition needs a lot of washing prior to shipping to New Zealand or Australia.
Challenge
Remove all soil contamination, and dismantle parts where necessary. Failure to remove all soil and organic matter, can result in the cargo being refused entry into the country.
Solution
We stopped the machine from going on board the vessel, and had photos taken to send to our customer. We then set to work to wash the trencher and remove all the dirt and contamination for loading on the next vessel which was only a few days away.
Result
The machine arrived in New Zealand on the next vessel, only a few days behind schedule, but because of our intervention it saved our customer thousands of dollars in storage and MAF fees on arrival. It also avoided him being blacklisted in the future due to the importation of dirty machinery.
