Vancouver to Christchurch
New machinery like harvesters are best shipped below deck on RORO vessels to ensure they do not get any salt damage. In this case the customer was happy to take the risk due to the urgency involved.
Challenge
This was an urgent shipment needed for the summer harvest of berries in Christchurch. With only weeks being the difference between our customer getting return on the machine from harvesting, or being faced with having the machine arrive after the harvest.
Solution
To make the harvest in the quickest possible time, Taurus Logistics had the shipment terminate in Auckland, unloaded, MAF and Customs cleared, then trucked direct to consignee ready for harvest.
Result
The machine arrived on time, was commissioned, and out harvesting berries the following week.
